7 Menu Items That Make The Barn-B-Que Deliciously Unique
The Barn-B-Que Smokehouse in Lake Ozark offers many of the popular BBQ dishes you'd expect a BBQ restaurant to serve but we simply couldn't stop there. In an effort to give our diners more than just the best smoked meats at the Lake of the Ozarks, we also like to "spice things up" with a few unique specialties that you're unlikely to find anyplace else. (And if you do, we're willing to bet we do 'em better!)
We also pride ourselves in offering made-from-scratch dishes and mouthwatering meats that are smoked daily in small batches to ensure the freshest, most delicious foods possible. While the items below are only a small portion of what you'll find at The Barn-B-Que, they should be enough to whet your appetite!
Heart Attack Burger
All of our 1/3-lb. burgers are deliciously made with a blend of beef chuck and brisket, then seasoned with salt, pepper, and our house rub and griddle-seared. What's extra-special about this particular burger is, well, the size! Once all the pieces are put together, is a gigantic meal full of fantastic flavors that are sure to satisfy the biggest of appetites!
The Heart Attack Burger is a double burger topped with our incredible pulled pork, bacon, and queso cheese sauce. One of these shouldn't actually give you a heart attack, but with so much meat, you might consider having a salad before enjoying another one next time.
Blue Cheesy Tots
Tater tots are a fairly common side dish but we bring ours up to the elite appetizer level with the addition of some deliciously bold flavors! These tator tots are first smothered in our house-made blue cheese dressing. After that, we top them with bacon pieces, blue cheese crumbles, and chives. Irresistible!
Grandma Jayne's Homemade Specialties
The Barn-B-Que's very own Grandma Jayne has gifted us with special recipes that are used for two of our made-from-scratch side dishes. The first of these is her award-winning Camp Beans, made with 5 different varieties of beans, our house sweet BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and chunky tomatoes.
We are also proud to serve her Old-Fashioned Mustard Potato Salad. It contains a magical mix of red potatoes, onions, sweet pickle relish, diced celery, mayo, and just a touch of mustard.
Best of all (and those two sides are already making our mouths water) Grandma Jayne comes in every week to whip up some of her made-from-scratch desserts! You definitely want to save room for the tasty treats she creates. If you're too full to enjoy dessert here, we highly suggest getting something sweet to-go for later.
Now on to those amazing smoked meats we mentioned earlier. The Barnyard features traditional BBQ favorites but once again, the uniqueness of this dish is in its size! This menu item is easily enough to feed 2 hungry people (or the perfect item to order if you want to guarantee leftovers for later!)
This gargantuan feast comes with 4 ribs, a jalapeno cheddar sausage, brisket, pulled pork, turkey, and (as if that wasn't already enough) two of our homestyle side dishes. WOW!
BBQ - it's not just for lunch and dinner anymore! This year we decided to try our hand at serving the best breakfast at the Lake of the Ozarks and according to those that have tried it, we succeeded! Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00 am-11:00 am, you can enjoy a hearty breakfast at The Barn-B-Que.
There are plenty of traditional breakfast items on the menu plus quite a few of our own unique dishes. Many of our breakfast items feature our famous smoked meats but we also serve fantastic French toast, yogurt parfaits, muffins, and more. We've definitely given everyone a delicious reason to get out of bed on the weekends!
Specialty Bloody Marys
We serve incredible Bloody Marys from the bar daily but occasionally, with some help from the kitchen, our bartenders get impressively creative with them. The ingredients inside the glass generally stay the same but on top of the glass, well, that's another story entirely!
In the past we've garnished Bloody Marys with pig wings, burnt ends, and once we even topped it with a 6-oz. Prime Rib and a side of potato salad! Be sure to follow The Barn-B-Que on Facebook to be alerted about the next time we get creative with this particular special.
Here at our Lake of the Ozarks family restaurant, the thing that makes our BBQ sauces especially unique is the wide variety of types we give you to choose from. Inspired by some of the best sauces around the country, here are the amazing flavors we've got for you to add to your 'que if you like.
- House Sweet - A sweet, slightly tangy sauce.
- Tangy - Similar to our sweet sauce but slightly thinner with more vinegar.
- Mustard Sauce - A Carolina-style, vinegar-based sauce that's excellent with pork, turkey, or chicken.
- Alabama White Sauce - Our take on a mayonnaise, horseradish, and vinegar sauce. If you've never had one like this, you've got to give it a try.
- Tennessee Hot - This one has a sweet start with a little heat on the back end, but not too much.
