Breakfast Really Is An Important Meal! (And SO DELICIOUS!)
We've all heard the saying that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day", but many continue to skip it. There are lots of different reasons for that but now that The Barn-B-Que Smokehouse in Lake Ozark is serving breakfast every weekend, you've got a great reason to make more of an effort to enjoy a morning meal. (We serve breakfast every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00-11:00 am, to be exact!)
In addition to the best breakfast at the Lake of the Ozarks being incredibly taste-tempting, here are a few more reasons why skipping breakfast should be a broken habit of the past for you.
Get an Energetic Upgrade
After sleeping for 7-10 hours at night (if you're getting enough sleep, but that's another topic entirely), it's important to replenish the nutrients and stores of energy in your body. The word "breakfast" literally means to "break the fasting period" after a night of sleep.
Research shows that breakfast eaters are more physically active in the morning and that energy is more likely to last them through the rest of their day too. So, making sure that you eat something healthy early in the day will make the rest of your day a lot easier to take on.
Have More Focus
When you start the day with little to no energy, it is extremely hard to focus. This has terrible effects on your attention span and memory. Regularly eating a morning meal helps to give you the ability to do better at work or in school.
Better Control Over Weight
Many assume that skipping a meal will help them lose weight but studies show that regularly eating breakfast helps a person avoid obesity. This morning meal kickstarts a body's metabolism, which helps it burn calories throughout the day.
Satisfying hunger early in the morning also helps you to avoid being overly hungry later. This is important because if you are "starving" by lunchtime, you're more likely to grab something quick and less healthy than if you have the patience to wait for a real meal because you ate a good breakfast.
